Diktsviten "Sleeve notes" finns i Paul Muldoons diktsamling Hay från 1998. Titlarna på stroferna är tagna från runt tjugo rockalbum. Från Are you experienced? med Jimi Hendrix till Voodo Lounge med Rolling Stones. Dikten har också som motto ett utdrag från en Stones-intervju. Och ytterligare ett Stones-album finns med.

Den som har hört Muldoons eget rockband Rackets blir kanske inte så förvånad över att det inte är de allra nyaste och spännande artisterna. Utan istället Beatles, Dire Straits och Elvis Costello.

En del av dikterna kommenterar skivorna. Men de flesta handlar om Muldoons liv.
Muldoon är en poet från Nordirland som numera bor i England. Han debuterade 1973 och har fortsatt ge ut flera diktsamlingar efter Hay.
